Standard of Living
- A country's standard of living does not show how everyone in the country lives. The standard of living is an average so there is a lower part and a higher part to those averages. Also in sets of data there is outliers. Someone in a country could be making way more money than their country's GDP and someone could be unemployed and living in poverty and making way less money than their country's GDP.
- The most interesting thing I have learned about standard of living is leisure time has something to do with a country's standard of living. I never really thought about how much having time off from school or work contributes to how people feel because I think I just took that for granted. Some kids my age are working hard in factories or on farms while I am sitting and watching tv. I think it is unfair that some children can’t enjoy their childhood and instead they have to work.
- I think people with a high standard of living should help people with a low standard of living. If you have a good standard of living then it shouldn’t be a problem to help someone who isn’t doing as well but you have to help them in the right way. You can’t do everything for people with a low standard of living because they can’t just rely on other people. You have to instead give them the skills they need to get a high standard of living
